FMC's Benzimidazole Herbicide

The benzimidazole compound illustrated below is thought to be a new herbicide in development at FMC. The product patent for which dates back about 10 years. In biological tests, FMC-H demonstrated good control of Giant Ragweed, Common Ragweed, Common Sunflower, Burcucumber, Common Mares-Tail, Field Bindweed, Buffalobur, Mayweed, Hedge Bindweed and Dandelions. FMC-H has also been claimed in combination with other herbicides such as hydroxamic acids and auxin herbicides.
