Isagro: IR7592

Cocamidopropyl betaine (CAPB) is a zwitterionic surfactant made from coconut. The compound is typically used in shampoos and cosmetics. CAPB and other zwitterionic compounds have been disclosed by Isagro as useful for the control of pathogenic fungi.

In biological tests cocamidopropyl betaine demonstrated good preventative control of Plasmopara viticola on vines at 250 ppm. The compound also showed good synergistic control with other fungicides such as fosetyl-Al, tetraconazole and valiphenal for the control of the same pathogen.
